Jai Gurudev

Fakir Sai Baba Parasram Sahebji was a spiritual leader who devoted his entire life in service of God and his creations. He was born on 9^th of February, 1909, in village Phuleli, near Hyderabad, Sindh (now Pakistan). His parents were Shri Darumal Gangaramani (Father) and Jamunadevi (Mother). Babaji’s Spiritual qualities were recognized by his mother initially.   At the age of 9, he was drawn to Spirituality by a Cobbler. Babaji travelled throughout the state of Sindh to spread faith and love for God. He was influenced and blessed by many Saints and Sages, notably, Swami Bodhram Saheb who preached Sri Bagvad Saheb to Babaji, Swami Prabhdas Saheb, Sai Chelaram (a teacher), Sadhu T L Vaswani & Dada J P Vaswani (Pune), Bagat Kawarram Saheb, Swami Teoram Maharaj, Swami Mulchand (Who preached “Hal Darwesh”), Swami Harumal Issardas, Swami Motumal and many more, and he attained higher levels of Spirituality & Self-Realization. However it was Kunj Guru Baba Amardas Sahebji, who won Babaji’s heart and Babaji became his disciple. Babaji immensely loved and respected his Guru throughout his entire life. As they said for him, “Akhiya Desh Se Aaya Mera Satguru”. Babaji owed everything to his Guru and got his blessing for his disciples. Babaji said, I am only a servant, you pray to my master and he will bless you. “As prayer goes up, blessings come down”.

After India-Pakistan partition in 1947, Babaji settled at Fatehgunj in Vadodara, Gujarat. Babaji was well educated and knew many languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Sindhi and Urdu. Initially, he had a respectable job, but later in India, he was running a modest business of fire wood. Babaji used to meditate here as well. Here in India, his Spiritual journey continued & he came in close contact of many Saints & Sages, namely, Fardosee  Seth (A Parsi),  Capt. Amreeksingh (EME, Vadodara), Swami Balkrishna Maharaj (Kabir Panthi, Manjalpur, Vadodara), Swami Dongre Maharaj, Swami Parmanand Saheb &   Swami Sadhuram (Warasia, Vadodara), Dada Ladharam (Principal), Swami Jairamdas (Ahmedabad) any many, many more, of various Casts, Creed and Religion. He loved, helped and welcomed everyone without any type of discrimination, lead everyone towards the journey of Spiritualism and Humanity through spreading his qualities like “Longing for the Lord, Satsang, Purity, Peace, Noble, Control of Mind, Conquer of Sense, Self-Reliance, Hard work, Humbleness, Sewa (Service), Simran, Mercy, Love, Compassion, Care, Truthfulness,       Desire less,  Brave, Duty, Holiness, Honesty, Faith & Trust in God, Patience, Perseverance, Simplicity, Obedience, Dedication, being happy in every situation, Respect, Silence, Sympathy, Fearlessness, Sense of Humor, Donation,” etc. in to his followers. And yet he always remained Unknown and Unnoticed as a Nothing. Babaji never believed in false Rites, Rituals or Ceremony and was truly a “Bandi Chhod Saheb”.

“Fakir Ki Jhopadi”

In year 1988, On Maha Shivratri day, Babaji started a Mandir named   “Fakir Ki Jhopadi” in Sant Kawar Colony, Vadodara, on Inspiration and Divine message from his Beloved Kunj Guru Baba Amardas Sahebji. “Fakir Ki Jhopadi” has blossomed into a Tirthdam, with Babaji’s constant effort for more than two decades. Many Saints and Sages of all walks of life have visited this place and blessed the gatherings. Now, “Fakir Ki Jhopadi” has become the base of all the religious activities. Babaji left for heavenly abode at age of 101 years on 13-3-2010. Babaji’s Samadhi is in “Fakir Ki Jhopadi”. Babaji always said, “This body will go, but I (my soul) will be with you forever.” Indeed it’s true! Babaji continues to bless everyone.

Activities at Fakir ki Jhopadi – Warasiya

Daily activities include, Satsang (Chanting of spiritual hymns) in the morning and in the evening. Babaji welcomed everyone at his place which always remained open for everyone. He served them with cooked food (Prasad) which he used prepare himself every day. Later he included his followers as the work expanded exponent. Almost 1000 to 1500 people were served with cocked food, the service still continues every day. Cows, Dogs, Birds, Water creatures are also being served with grass, milk, bread, grains etc. Babaji, listened to everyone, guided & blessed them. He worked very hard throughout the day and night and inspired everyone to do the same. Babaji pressed for giving equal weight to three principle of life (1) Work for Earning & be Self-Dependent (2) Taking care of your Family & Social Life (3) Follow the path of Spirituality & Service to God and his creations. These activities are being continued even today.

Current Activities at Fatehgunj

The activities at Fatehgunj are managed by trust ‘Baba Parasramsaheb Mission’. Here, daily about 500 to 700 people are served with freshly cooked hygienic food comprising of unlimited whole meal which rotationally includes sweets, fresh fruits, dairy products, bakery items, tea, sweet syrups, packaged foods and various other delicious vegetarian recipes without any discrimination of cast, religion, etc. On festive occasions, people are served in various other ways like providing clothes, stationary to children, books, seasonal goods. Cows, Dogs, Birds, Water creatures are also being served with grass, milk, bread, grains, potable water etc. While doing all these activities, underlying good practices of hygiene, ethics, moral principles, cleanliness, conservation of food and environment, patriotism and social behavior are instilled. The serving team includes people belonging to all walks of the life, including the notable and illustrious people like doctors, engineers, educationalists, CA’s, businessman, industrialists, builders, bureaucrat, officers, professionals, political figures, advocates, spiritual and social leaders, students, etc.  The other services include providing food through tiffin service to about 100 old and weak people on daily basis. The trust in collaboration with other trusts also serves morning breakfast and fresh fruit to 500 to 600 patients at GMERS, Gotri Hospital.

There are uncountable instances where Babaji has blessed his followers and miracles have continued to happen. Today, his disciples and followers comprising of many cast and religion are spread not only in Vadodara or Gujarat, but they are spread across the globe.
